In fact, sunscreen involves two, basic types: Organic Sunscreen & Physical Sunscreen or Mineral Sunscreen What’s important with both of these is that the formulations and testing of UV protection are tricky. This can lead to erroneous conclusions. Just how do the particles blend together (along with their coating) in just the right way to block UV-rays and protect you? How the protection is assessed is important, too! Should they use in vitro or in vivo testing of UVA? How is sunscreen rated in regards to water resistance? In addition, there is no international consensus on how to rate sunscreen products. It’s a complicated topic! However, you can find out how the FDA rates your sunscreen protection in this video.
