It's sometimes difficult to find plants that add interest to winter hanging baskets and containers so I keep a lot of plants, in particular the structural plants from one year to the next. Which means that I have to remove and pot up the plants that I want to keep and compost those that are past their best or have become too 'leggy'
The conifer is Cupressus macrocarpa 'Goldcrest' common name: Monterey cypress 'Goldcrest' or Lemon cypress.
The checkerberry/wintergreen is Gaultheria procumbens AGM
The pansy seed heads that I saved have dried and opened and can be seen here: https://www.instagram.com/p/BHmb05SA9sv/. I'll sow them in a few weeks ready for the winter baskets.
